Psychics is a collective term referring to ordinary humans who are born with or have attained an extraordinary ability. Psychics share a close connection to the supernatural and have long played a role in this world.
Origin
Psychics can either be born with their ability or gain an ability through the influence of outside forces. Certain abilities are hereditary and run strong in certain bloodlines, meaning that children can inherit a supernatural ability from their parents, grandparents or even their ancestors.
Other Psychics gain their ability through the experience of traumatic or supernatural events. Humans who have had a near-death experience or even a temporary clinical death may gain a psychic ability. However, not all Psychics have a true reason or source for their abilities, as some psychic abilities manifest for no apparent reason other than possibly fate.
Psychics may choose whether or not they embrace their abilities. Some view it as a gift while others see it as a curse.
